The positive reception of Animal, coupled with its enduring box office performance, reflects the audience’s strong affinity for Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s work. While the action-drama captivated viewers and continues to perform well, the teaser for Animal Park has sparked considerable interest. In a recent interview, the filmmaker delved into discussions about the sequel and even hinted at the potential for a third installment of Animal. Additionally, he disclosed the timeline for initiating the shooting of the sequel.
Renowned filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently engaged in a conversation with Galatta Plus, delving into the intricacies of the characters and scenes in Animal. During the discussion, he revealed that he always harbored the idea of creating a sequel to the movie. Therefore, as the film concluded with a vulnerable portrayal of Ranbir Kapoor, he conceived the notion of offering a glimpse into Animal Park.
Explaining the rationale behind including the post-credit butcher scene in the film, the director of Kabir Singh stated, “So, I started that. There was a feeling for me and Ranbir strongly felt like the idea was great but we should use this scene now. Even I thought like ‘Let’s use it.’ So, I thought I’ll take a little while, keep a blank screen for a while, and then use it. But mujhey dar laga k log chale jaenge tab tak. (But I was worried that by then people would have left the theatre.)”
He further mentioned his intention to leave the audience with a lingering sense of empathy for Ranbir’s character, Vijay. Responding to complaints that the butcher scene interrupted this emotion too soon, Sandeep clarified, “Because this feeling will continue for a while in part two. So, I thought okay when you see Volume 1, Volume 2, you’ll feel nice.”
When questioned about the decision to commence the movie with Ranbir’s character as a 60-year-old, he spoke about the potential for a trilogy. The director explained, “Because keeping part 2 and part 3 in mind. I thought maybe parts 2-3, the old man is narrating. I thought it was a nice way of opening the film with laughter and relatively there he’s saying a monkey joke.”
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has unveiled his schedule, indicating that his upcoming project, Spirit, starring Prabhas, is set to commence filming in September 2024. Following this, he plans to shift his focus to Animal Park. Explaining his approach, the creator of Arjun Reddy emphasized his preference for writing his own material rather than relying solely on the writer’s room.
Regarding the choice of the title Animal Park for the second installment of the movie, he expressed, “I thought that there’s a bunch of animals, there’s not only one or two. So, it’s a warfare now. It’s like Mahabharat now between brothers and cousins.”
In a recent interview, Siddhant Karnick, an actor in the movie Animal, shed light on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s personal life story and shared insights into the sacrifices made by the director’s family.

Karnick, known for portraying villainous roles in highly successful films, recounted the challenges Vanga faced and emphasized the director’s unwavering commitment to his craft.
